The National Emblem
The current emblem is the camel that we don’t eat its meat and drink its milk. Either in our revolution or day to day life we use donkeys for transportation than camel even in the lowland. But PFDJ as part of creating new Eritrean cultural national identity they made camel as a national emblem.
ነጸላ is religious and traditional dress of Ge’ez people. Our ተጋደልቲ fighters do ጥውያ ነጸላ to handle their garment easily in wars and covered their remains when martyred. We use ነጸላ to worship our God, we dress ነጸላ to celebrate when we are happy with ours or our children wedding, and we ነጸላ to be dignified and to be covered when we died inter our grave.
ታቦት is a replica of the Tablets of Law, onto which the Biblical Ten Commandments were inscribed, used in the practices of our Ancient and modern church. ታቦትcan also refer to a replica of the Covenant. For the Monorah please look at national flag.
Our national emblem reflects our pride and deep gratitude to our martyrs, our sustainability as ancient civilization and our responsibility to pass our values to our children
