Land

Land was owned by villages in the highlands and by state in the lowlands of Eritrea. There was no land that’s owned by individuals in Eritrea. PFDJ nationalized ownership of the land from villages in order to destroy Tigrigna national identity, Tigrigna nationalism, Tigrigna local identity and Tigrigna local patriotism in order to create citizenship based notion-state. Tigrigna identity is based on its ancestral village land. By taking its land effectively PFDJ is taking away Tigrigna soul and identity.

Only Tigrigna land is for everyone in Middle East and Horn of Africa. Only Tigrigna people land and Sea is for sale in Horn of Africa and Middle East. PFDJ and the entire Italian creates ruling elite are selling Tigrigna land for Eritrean Muslim settlers from Sudan, Ethiopia, Yemen, Saudi Arabia etc. There is no identity without land for Tigrigna people. ጸዓዘጋ፣ ዓዜን፣ ገጀረት፣ ሕምርቲ፣ ዓዲ ሓዎሻ፣ ዓዲተከለዛን፣ ደቒ ሽሓይ፣ ዓረዛ፣ ማይ ድማ፣ ዓዲ መንጎቲ ፣ ማይምነ፣  ተራእምኒ፣ ኮርባርያ፣ ማዕረባ፣ ቱኹል፣ እንዳ ዶቆ፣ ድግሳ፣ አምሁር፣ ጾሮና etc are not peace of lands or any urban neighbourhoods. They are our identities, our roots, our promise and holy lands that we have deep emotional and spiritual attachment. Tigrigna villages and their land  are about identity and community more than political economy issues.

We will give back  land to highland villages to manage it and own it according their local land laws.  We will end the citizenship based state of Eritrea. The state of Eritrea will be like its neighbour such as Sudan, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Yemen, Saudi Arabia. The state of Eritrea will heritage based or civilization state.

In the eastern and western lowlands we will set up new local administrations for ethnic minority and for new Ge’ez settlement that will own and manage the land. There will be land owned by the state for national parks, army barracks and training fields etc.

Eritrea location is primary or premium location. If we build industrial estates for factories that have workers dominators for foreign workers to live that we can lease or rent it to foreign investors and supply them millions low wage workers from Asia and Africa. If build separate apartments for high skilled and high wage foreign workers by side of the industrial real estates and workers dominators that thousands investors will come to lease or rent it. That’s what they do like Dubai and Singapore that they lease industrial, residential and offices estate. Any village can earn decent money from rents and local taxes and it can pass the land to next generation to enjoy.

The foreign workers of low and middle skilled wage in Dubai and Singapore doesn’t increase at all because there hundreds of millions workers around the world who want to  work for less. Dubai and Singapore don’t give permanent residential visa or citizenship for foreign workers who are low and middle skilled. They give permanent residential visa for highly skilled foreign workers but Dubai doesn’t give citizenship for any highly skilled foreign workers but millions highly skilled European, American and Asian workers wanted to live in Dubai unpleasant desert because they build industrial estate, ports, apartments, offices, roads etc. Like Dubai, we shouldn’t give citizenship to any one and we shouldn’t give permanent residential visa to low and middle skilled.

Building these industrial, residential and offices Real estate will be cheap and very high quality because villages own the land and Eritrea has abandoned construction materials like sand, cement, stone, clays, iron ores, marbles etc.

So our land is not only based and protector of national and local identity. It is also source of our wealth. We farmed our land to feed our self’s for many centuries. No country in the world can get rich by farming. We have to get rich and create jobs by offer investors that sound ” too good to be true” combinations of cheap labour, high skilled labour at competitive salary, good location, peace and stability, no corruption and crime, rule of law, high tech, cheap electric, readymade industrial office and residential real estate. All these because of our land and because we have cultural capacity to build competitive and effective institutions.

No one can get eternal wealth like Europeans in exile.  The hard working and devoted Eritrea Eritrean Tigrigna refugees in Europe can pass 50% of their culture and values to their children who born in Europe. Eritrean Tigrigna who born in Europe doesn’t pass their identity, culture and values to their children. Or grand children of the first Eritrean refugee generation to West or any other country have nothing to do with their ancestor heritage. They will lose their identity and heritage and like any exiled black people they will be poor and marginalized.  That’s why our land is everything to us.

There will be no one entitled to free urban land because he or she is from the village. Giving 500 sq meter free lands to every villager to build his or her own house is not sustainable and will cover the entire country with concrete in a few decades. Instead of giving free housing land, every Eritrean will get the discount offer equal to the price of their village market value of 500 sq meter of housing land when he or she buys only their first apartment in every part of Eritrea. 

       We will have a green belt policy. The green belt is a policy for controlling urban growth. The idea is for a ring of countryside where urbanisation will be resisted for the foreseeable future, maintaining an area where agriculture, forestry and outdoor leisure can be expected to prevail. Within 3 years start of the industrial revolution our land should designate to agriculture land, forestry land, outdoor leisure (parks) and urban/industrial land.
