Our Currency 

We named our currency for three thousand years ቅርሺ but as PFDJ project is creating a new national cultural identity is it changed it to ናቕፋ. PFDJ believe Eritrean national cultural identity is created in 1890 and strengthened in 1970-80 in ናቕፋ. My brother Haile (1985) and my sister Kiros (1983) is one of the tens of thousands ናቕፋ martyrs. They martyred with their brothers and sisters to bring back and restore our families, our community, our freedom, our social justice, our protections, our safety nets, and the rule of laws, our love, our trust, our joy, our happiness, our dignity and secure the continuation of our history and identity. Not to continue what Amhara and Italian started. ደርግ army was fighting in ናቕፋ to kill our forefathers identity and history and impose the Amhara history and identity on us. Our fighters were fighting in ናቕፋ to protect and secure our Ge’ez history and identity. The EPLF elites were seated behind ናቕፋ trenches conspiring to impose new national cultural identity.

To fulfill our martyrs wish we will rename our national currency by its ancient Ge’ez name that is ቅርሺ.
