
Our Economy
PFDJ economic goal is creating Eritrean national cultural identity among the nine ethnics. PFDJ or the exiled so-called opposition never write, talk or think in its economic policy papers about creating jobs and opportunities. The objective of its economic agenda is to bring the tribal and clan socioeconomic equal to the Tigrigna people socioeconomic by transferring wealth from the Tigrigna to tribes and clans by taxing and by enslaving the Tigrigna in permanent mass mobilization and unpaid works.
There is no country in world that industrialized, reforestation its land, build roads etc by mass mobilization and by ብራሃጽናን ጽፍርናን primitive PFDJ ideology. Mass mobilization and by ብራሃጽናን ጽፍርናን has to end with PFDJ forever from our country and minds. All successful world’s became first class economies by science, technology and modern management know how. We need to be humble students and wises to absorbed Western first class science, technology and modern management know how within 10-20 years. We will have dignity and freedom only when we have prosperous and competitive economy. To be a citizen of poor country is about daily humiliations and suffering. Sovereignty, election, constitution, free press, democracy etc alone will not bring us dignity and freedom. Economy is everything in society and country life.
The only way we can get rich is only when we form/establish business/industries that will produce much higher/better quality/standard products than European product standard at much lower cost of production than Chinese producers by using cutting edge advance Israel/western technology, highly qualified efficient and competent management and engineering teams from Israel, Eritrea and West, affordable abundant resources of Eritrea, Africa and very disciplined and competitive cheap immigrant labour forces of Eritrea, Africa and Asia.
There is no country that industrialized or modernizes its economy and builds national economic institutions by foreign investors. South Korea had industrialized its economy and build world first class companies in similar strategy. We can learn a lot from South Korea industrialization history.
Our economic policies will be a mixed economy of governments (mainly local governments) and private. The Innovative steadfast form of economics that combines economic planning with free-market, based on citizens complete economic freedom and a very close relationship between government and business.
Every law that will exist in our nation must be making us not only very competitive but give us advantages over our competitors. Labour law, immigration law, criminal law, civil law, tax law and above all we will re-write our national constitution on these bases. We learned a hard lesson from our history what a matter in the world is winning.
Transfer of Technology, Science and Modern Management Know How
Building national economy or political economy is about creating a country of capable, competitive and competent people that can learn, innovate and produce by itself in a sustainable way. It is about building cultured and educated society and innovative institutions. It is not building factories, motorways, power stations or dams.
Sending individuals to foreign countries to develop Eritreans or Ethiopian human resources will not produce the necessary result because it is expensive, ineffective, take a long time and above all ours and African histories proved it is not a certain success.
After 800 years poverty, ignorance, diseases, exiling etc that our people couldn’t afford try and error development strategy in terms of money, environmental damage and we can’t sustain our social, cultural and economical suffering and anxiety for long. We have to fellow science, fact and evidence base development strategy with full certainty for success.
We must create world’s first class civil services, companies, army, courts and other commercial, non-commercial, governmental, private etc institutions that will deliver result imminently and educate our youth on working site at the same time by hiring the best and highly qualified and experienced technocrats, bureaucrats, engineers, managers, judges, auditors, teachers, police and army officers from Western countries, Israel, South Korea, Japan and Singapore. We must produce competent and capable youth while we are delivering high quality jobs, housing, education, health care, justice, security etc from day one we are in power to our people.
When the Italians want to modernize Eritrea economy and infrastructure after Benito Mussolini became Italian Prime Minister 1922 to use it as a command and a production base / centre for the Italian war machine in East Africa they send only less than 1500 engineers most of them new young college and university graduate to Eritrea. There was no a single Tigrigna Eritrean who had a college or university degree. 99% of Eritreans were illiterate farmers. There was no software or computer, no major infrastructure, etc. but Italians, they manage to modernize and industrialize Eritrea with 10 years by mobilizing and coordinating the illiterate Eritrean farmers because of our structured culture.
In Eritrea and under the Federal system in Tigray like Japan that they can separate the political leadership and management (Civil Service) by law. The Japan government philosophy is political leadership is about doing right thing but civil service is doing right. Or the civil service has to be 100% perfect. To be 100% perfect that the civil service with judiciary has to be legalist and open to highly skilled Western and Asian bureaucrats and technocrats in local, regional and central government. From the executive of government only president, prime minister, ministers, governors and mayors should reserved for citizens. The executive part of government the policy maker, regulator and executor must be separate institution.
The only government body that will be only for citizens is democratically elected powerful national, regional and local parliaments. The parliament mandate must be restricted to passing laws and making the executive accountable.
Let’s own our resources, industries, lands, institutions by making our own law and goals. What matter is ownership of the wealth, ownership of the idea/ideology/culture, ownership of initiatives, and the factual result not who manage it or implement it as a manager. We will never open sweatshops for so-called foreign investors in the name of industrialization. Always we will own and control our land and economy to protect dignity of our citizens.
Thanks to our forefathers we don’t need to import or copy foreign cultures. Unlike other African countries we can produce intuitively and wisdom based 10,000 national, regional and local leaders who have integrity and nationalism in one year but we can’t produce 100 intelligent technical and analytical leaders who are competent leaders with integrity, nationalism and knowhow of modern technology, science and management system. Our people shouldn’t be used as Guinea pig for our corrupt, incompetent and arrogant elite and their children management skill and ideology testing laboratory. We need 10-15 years to build our own effective and efficient institutions, tens of thousands competent bureaucrats and technocrats.
We will make the few qualified leaders we have with wisdom, integrity, nationalism, analytical mind and knowhow of modern management system mainly legislatures of central government, regional governments, and local administration.
Health services, education services, environmental services, all infrastructure works, Air Sea and land ports will be done by independent companies either owned by government or private. Any commercial investment by central government, regional and local administrations will be done through their Saving and Investment Trust Funds (SITF). The directors of these trust funds must be professionals of any country and must be independent from the executive body of central government, regional and local administrations and must be accountable directly to the parliament not to the executive body. We will recruit tens of thousands foreign technical and managerial expertise to work on those SITFs, companies and agencies in order to transfer the know how to our youth.
